Primer on the purpose and responsibilities of the software advisory teams

Body

Central Piedmont has created two college-wide advisory teams to provide feedback and perspective to Information Technology Services (ITS) when there are decisions to be made and/or important updates to be shared regarding the major software platforms used either in learning environments or the college.

The Academic Technology Advisory Team (ATAT) is responsible for academic technology items used mainly for teaching and learning.

The Enterprise Software Advisory Team (ESAT) is responsible for enterprise technologies platforms used across the college.

Advisory Team Member Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings regularly

  • Review software release documentation

  • Provide feedback to help with decisions and communication

  • Represent the needs and concerns of respective areas of the college

  • Perform testing

  • Collectively make decisions related to the use of certain platforms

Core Functional Teams

Smaller teams will also be used to gather information and set agendas around specific software platforms. Each core functional team will address a specific platform. These teams will collect and curate information related to respective platforms to bring to the appropriate advisory team for final decisions and awareness.

Functional Team Member Responsibilities

  • Complete close reviews of platform release notes

  • Occasional testing of new features for software platforms

  • Direct interaction with vendors to gain clarity around features and overall direction of the platform

  • Create agendas for items that must be brought to the advisory team.
