  5. Click "Get a link to share."

  6. Copy the meeting link to your clipboard. Unfortunately, the URL link is long and there has not been any documentation on how to change that.

*Note: joining the meeting will require the meeting link. It will not create a calendar event. Please see below in Misc Information.

**Note: Recommendation to check the Engagement section for Chat settings. By default, the setting is "On."

On – Allows people to send messages in the chat after the meeting has ended.
In-meeting only – Only permits people to send messages in the meeting, but does not prevent them from seeing the chat history.
Off – Turns off the chat for attendees.

Refer to MS Meeting Option Chart

How to edit the settings at anytime

  1. Join in the meeting (does not matter if there are no attendees present, see further below for where the meeting shows)
  2. Select More
  3. Hover over Settings
  4. Select Meeting options

***Note: For instructors using this for virtual office hours. Please remember to REMOVE students who have joined AFTER the meeting as users who are still joined will be able to see the ongoing chat history of other users. Newly joined users cannot view past chat history. If a user re-joins for a second meeting the chat history should only show their previous session. Additionally, users can only be removed from meetings that have at least 3 participants. It is recommended to add another faculty/staff member to get around this limitation.

To remove joined users, click the People icon in the upper right corner of the chat window. Hover over the user and click the X.
