Summary

Get quick, real-time support from the ITS Service Desk through the chat feature in the ITS Client Portal. This guide explains how to start a chat on desktop or mobile, connect with a Service Desk Analyst, and save a transcript of your conversation for future reference.

Overview

Central Piedmont students and employees can begin a chat on the ITS Client Portal for quick and efficient assistance from the ITS Service Desk. 

Instructions

  1.  Navigate to the ITS Client Portal homepage. 
  2.  Locate the blue chat button on the right side of the page.

  1. Select New Conversation.

  1. Enter your First and Last name.

Note: If you know your ID number, please also enter it in the name field.

  1. You will be connected with the next available Service Desk Analyst for assistance. 

Chat Tips

  • Before starting a chat, please have your ID number or user name readily available.

  • If you need to retrieve or update sensitive account information, we will need to verify your identity over a brief video call via Microsoft Teams.

  • You can email yourself a transcript of the chat for future reference by navigating to the menu option and selecting "Email transcript".
