Prevent Chromebooks from Requesting a Google Verification Code

How to prevent Central Piedmont Chromebooks from requesting a verification code at sign-in. This is done by removing your student account from the Google or Gmail app on your mobile device, as Central Piedmont no longer uses Google services.

If you are attempting to sign into a Chromebook and receive the following message:

Message appears asking you to verify a code from another device through the Gmail app

Then perform the following steps to remove your account from your phone to prevent this message from appearing:

Step 1: Open any Google app on your phone. Gmail or Google will probably be the easiest.
Step 2: Click on your initial in the top right of the screen.
Step 3: A list of accounts should appear. Choose "Manage accounts on this device"
Step 4: Locate your @email.cpcc.edu address and there should be a button right below it that says "Remove from this device." Click that button.

At this point, you can try logging into any Chromebook and you should be able to get in.
