H: Drive Migration - October 21, 2026

Beginning October 21, 2026, H: Drive content will be migrated to a new location. Windows users do not need to take action. This article provides instructions for macOS users to access their files following the migration.

Overview

Beginning October 21, 2026, H: Drive content will be migrated to the new location.

Windows users do not need to take action. Your documents will be migrated, and you can continue accessing your H: Drive the same way you do today.

Instructions for macOS Users

Follow these steps to connect to the new file storage location and add your department's folder to Finder Favorites for easy access.

1. Open Finder on your Mac.
2. From the menu bar, select Go > Connect to Server (or press Command + K).
3. In the Server Address field, enter:
   smb://cpcc.edu/drives/data
4. Click Connect.
5. When prompted, enter your Central Piedmont username and password, then click Connect.
6. A Finder window will open displaying the available departmental folders.
7. Locate your department's folder and click it once to select it (do not open it).
8. From the Finder menu bar, select File > Add to Sidebar.

Your department's folder will now appear under Favorites in the Finder sidebar, providing a convenient shortcut for future access.
