Task

This article explains how to review and approve ITS service requests submitted by employees.

Instructions

Some service requests require supervisor approval, such as U: drive storage increases, H: drive folder access, and departmental mailbox creation. When an employee submits one of these requests, an email notification will be sent requesting your approval before the request can be fulfilled.

  1. You will receive an email from ITS notifying you of the approval request. Look for an email with “Workflow Step Assignment” or “Approval Requested” in the subject line.

  2. Click the link in the email to review the request.

  1. The link will take you to the Client Portal, where you can view request details and access the Approve and Reject buttons. If you are not already signed in, you will be prompted to log in.

  2. Click Approve or Reject to submit your decision. You may also add comments if needed.

Additional Notes

Do NOT reply directly to the email with responses such as “Approved,” “Denied,” or similar. These requests use a workflow that requires selecting Approve or Reject from the portal link. Email replies will not process the approval and will delay the request.

If you experience issues with the approval link, or if you expected a request but did not receive one, contact the ITS Service Desk through the Client Portal or call 704-330-5000.
