Students

Password is Incorrect

If you receive this error message:
"Your account or password is incorrect. If you don't remember your password, reset it now."

  1. Double-check that you’ve entered your password correctly.
  2. If it’s still not working or you can’t remember your password, go to the Password Management Portal
  3. Enter your Central Piedmont email address and CAPTCHA.
  4. Select "I forgot my password" and click Next.
  5. Complete the verification step.
  6. Create a new password that meets these requirements:
    • Must be at least 14 characters long
    • Cannot reuse any of your last 24 passwords
    • Cannot contain personal information (name, birth date, etc) or a partial spelling of personal information
    • Cannot contain your username
    • Must include characters from at least 3 of the following categories:
      • Uppercase letters (A through Z)
      • Lowercase letters (a through z)
      • Numbers (0 through 9)
      • Symbol/special character (~!@#$%^&*(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/)
    • Previous password must be at least 24 hours old

Note: You can only reset your password once every 24 hours. If you changed your password within the past 24 hours, you must wait before resetting it again. For assistance, please contact the ITS Service Desk.

Password has Expired

If you receive this error message:
“Your organization doesn't allow you to update your password on this site. Please update it according to the method recommended by your organization, or ask your admin if you need help.”

  1. Double-check that you’ve entered your password correctly.
  2. If it’s still not working or you can’t remember your password, go to the Password Management Portal
  3. Enter your Central Piedmont email address and CAPTCHA.
  4. Select "I forgot my password" and click Next.
  5. Complete the verification step.
  6. Create a new password that meets these requirements:

Account is Locked

If you receive one of these error messages:
“Your account has been locked. Contact your support person to unlock it, then try again,"
“Your account has been locked to prevent unauthorized use.”

  1. Go to the Password Management Portal.
  2. Enter your Central Piedmont email address and CAPTCHA.
  3. Select "I know my password, but still can't sign in" and click Next.
  4. Complete the verification step to finish unlocking your account.

Username is Incorrect

If you receive one of these error messages:
"This username may be incorrect. Make sure you typed it correctly. Otherwise, contact your admin."
"We couldn't find an account with that username."

  1. Confirm that you are entering the correct username or email address. Your student email address should be in this format:
    username@email.cpcc.edu or username@lab.cpcc.edu
  2. If you’ve been away for more than three semesters, your account may no longer be active. Please contact the Student Success Navigators for assistance returning to the college.
  3. If you’re a new or returning student and have already spoken to the Navigators, you may need to activate your account. NOTE: It might take a few hours after speaking with a Student Success Navigator before your account is ready to activate.

Faculty and Staff
