Help removing courses in Brightspace for Students

Task

Reduce visibility of older courses in Brightspace

Courses are academic and legal records that must be retained for some time. They cannot be removed and users cannot be removed. Here are some tips to reduce your views of older courses:

 

Instructions

  1. In the "My Courses" widget, be sure to select the current semester, not "All"
  2. In the "Select a course..." view, "unpin" your older courses and "pin" the newer ones. 
  3. If you are receiving notifications from older courses, you can use the "Manage my course exclusions" link at the bottom of your "Notifications" page to stop them. 

 

Outcome

You will only see older courses if you select an older semester in the "My Courses" widget.

The first courses you see in the "Select a course..." view will be your current ones.
