Adobe Software Installation Guide

Introduction

Adobe's Creative Cloud application serves as a central hub for installing other Adobe applications such as Acrobat, Illustrator, Lightroom, and Photoshop. This article contains instructions for installing and signing into Adobe Creative Cloud and other Adobe applications on Central Piedmont and personal devices. It also contains instructions for deactivating Creative Cloud on personal devices that have already have it installed.

Adobe Creative Cloud is not needed if you only require a PDF viewer, as the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers have this capability built in. Instructions for Employee Workstations

Installing Adobe Creative Cloud

  1. Click the "Start" button at the bottom-left of the computer screen, type “Software Center”, and press the "Enter" key on the keyboard.

  1. Click on the "Adobe Creative Cloud" icon; then click the "Install" button. If you cannot locate the "Adobe Creative Cloud" icon, use the search bar at the top right of Software Center and type “Adobe Creative Cloud”.

Signing into Adobe Creative Cloud

  1. Once Adobe Creative Cloud has been installed, click the "Start" button at the bottom-left of the computer screen, type “Adobe Creative Cloud”, and press the "Enter" key on the keyboard.

  1. Enter your Central Piedmont email address; then, click the blue "Continue" button. A Central Piedmont login prompt will then appear; enter your Central Piedmont username & password and click "Login".

Installing Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

  1. Once you have signed into Adobe Creative Cloud there will be a list of available Adobe apps that can be installed located within the All apps tab under the Available in your plan section.

                              

  1. Click the Install button below the desired app to start the installation process.
                                                                    
  1. Once the install is complete the app will appear under the "Installed" section. Click the "Open" button to launch the app.

                                         

Instructions for Personal Devices

Desktop or Laptop Computer

  1. In a web browser navigate to https://creativecloud.adobe.com/cc, enter your Central Piedmont email address, and click the blue "Continue" button. A prompt will appear asking for your Central Piedmont username and password; enter these credentials and click "Login".

                                      

  1. Click on the "Browse All Apps" tab on the left side of the web page to display all available Adobe apps. Then, locate the Creative Cloud app under the "Available in your plan" section and click "Download".

                                                       

  1. Click on the installation file titled "Creative_Cloud_Set-Up.exe" that appears in your web browser (at the bottom-left for Chrome or at the top-right for Firefox and Edge).

                                     

  1. Click on the blue "Continue" button at the bottom-right. Then click "Yes" on the Adobe Installer prompt that appears. During the installation two questions will appear: click "Skip Question" for each.

                                       

  1. Once the installation is complete, Adobe Creative Cloud will open automatically. Locate the desired Adobe app from the "Available in your plan" section and click the "Install" button. When the installation is complete, the app will appear under the "Installed" section. Click "Open" to launch the newly-installed app.

                                     

Tablet or Smartphone

  1. Search for "Adobe Creative Cloud" on your mobile device’s app store and tap either "Install" (if using an Android device) or "Get" (if using an Apple device).

                                             

  1. Once installation is complete, open the app and tap the blue "Sign in" button next to "Already have an account?".

                                                                                            

  1. Tap "Continue with Adobe ID", enter your Central Piedmont email address, and tap the blue "Continue" button. A login prompt will appear asking for your Central Piedmont username and password; enter these credentials and tap "Login".

                             

  1. Once you have signed in, tap the "Apps" icon on the bottom-right of the screen; then, tap the "Download" icon next to the app you wish to install. When the app store opens, tap either "Install" or "Get".

                                                        

  1. Once the desired app has been installed, open it and tap the "Sign in" button under "Sign in with an Adobe ID". Enter your Central Piedmont email address and tap the blue "Continue" button. A login prompt will appear asking for your Central Piedmont username and password; enter these credentials and tap "Login".

                                       

Deactivating Personal Devices with Adobe Creative Cloud Installed

Adobe imposes a two-device limit per account for personal devices with Adobe Creative Cloud installed; thus, in order to install Adobe apps on a third device, you will first need to deactivate Creative Cloud access for one of the two pre-existing devices.

  1. In a web browser navigate to https://account.adobe.com/activated-devices, and enter your Central Piedmont email address; then, click the blue "Continue" button. A Central Piedmont login prompt will then appear; enter your Central Piedmont username & password and click "Login".
  2. Click the "Deactivate" button next to the device for which you wish to deactivate Creative Cloud access.
