This article demonstrates how to access the adaptive learning tool McGraw-Hill - ALEKS through Brightspace.
ALEKS is a personalized, adaptive learning tool for Math and Chemistry. ALEKS works to understand:
- What students know,
- What students do not know,
- What students are most ready to learn.
ALEKS then creates a personalized learning plan that gets them to the finish line in the most efficient way.
Follow the steps below to access the McGraw Hill external tool ALEKS.
Step 1: Log in to Brightspace and navigate to the course.
Step 2: Navigate to the content area in the course and select the McGraw-Hill Campus external tool link. Click the link shown below to start the registration process.
Step 3: First-time users of McGraw-Hill Campus will need to agree to the terms of use, service, and privacy policy, then click "Get Started." On the following screen select the "ALEKS" button to continue.
Step 4: Select an option:
- Existing user: Select "Yes, I have an ALEKS login name." Then click Continue. Users will have the option to reset their password
- New User: Select "No, I have never used ALEKS before." Then click Continue to create a new account.
Step 5: To register, enter first/last name and Central Piedmont email address when creating an account. Agree to the Terms of Use and then click Continue.
Step 6: On the next screen click continue again to be taken to purchasing options.
Step 7: Select one of the options:
- Already have an ALEKS Code: Select "Yes, I have an access code," and enter the code.
- Do not have a code and need to purchase: Select "No, I need to purchase an access code" to pay with a credit card or PayPal.
- Temporary Access: Enter the code provided by your instructor for two-week temporary access.
Step 8: Click Continue to be taken back to the "My Classes" page in ALEKS.
