  • Basic knowledge of how to navigate student profiles.
  • An existing student profile for the notes to be added to or the ability to create a new student record.

Instructions

  1. Locate the Notes Profile Card
    • Go to the student profile in MyConnect.
    • Find the Notes profile card, which stores all notes related to that student.
  2. Create a New Note
    • Click the + symbol to create a new note.
    • Type your note in the provided text box.
    • Alternatively, you can find the "Add a Note" button at the top right corner of the student's profile and click it to create a new note.
  3. Set Note Visibility (Optional)
    • Toggle the Private button if you want the note to be visible only to you and the student.
    • Optionally, add additional team members or a team to the note visibility settings. This allows your team to view the note as well.
  4. Select Note Type
    • Choose the appropriate Note Type from the dropdown menu. This helps categorize the note for better organization and future reference.
  5. Submit the Note
    • Once you've added your note and selected the appropriate settings, click Submit to save the note to the student’s profile.

Outcome

By following these steps, you will be able to successfully create and manage notes in MyConnect. Notes will be saved to the student’s profile, and you can control who has access to view them.

Student-First Best Practices:

One of the benefits of MyConnect is providing Central Piedmont employees a more wholistic view of each student’s educational journey, allowing for better coordinated support and communication across all areas of the College. By sharing thoughtful, relevant notes on a student’s profile that are visible to other student support staff, departments are able to intentionally collaborate their efforts to address concerns or provide the support necessary to help all students be successful.
